Professional views of the Golden Gate International Exposition held on Treasure Island, and of Asian-Americans in San Francisco.
Exposition views include construction, buildings, sculpture and statuary, fashion models posing in various locations, exhibitions
and entertainment. One image depicts Eleanor Roosevelt taking part in a parade; another depicts one of the main buildings
on fire. Some night views are present, including a fireworks display. Asian American images were taken at least in part during
World War II, perhaps to illustrate the patriotism of these communities; images include portraits of Chinese Americans and
Japanese Americans, views of San Francisco's Chinatown, parades and other public performances, Christian church scenes, arts
and crafts, and scenes of everyday life (home, school, eating, etc). One image includes Chinese models with "U.S.O. for U.S.A."
donation cans; another shows Asian U.S. military veterans. Images include much traditional Chinese and Japanese attire.
